We meet the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30-9pm at Faith Community Lutheran Church at 9775 Ute Highway, Longmont, CO. Meetings are sometimes virtual via Zoom. Check our calendar for more information.

Guest fees are $10 and are payable at the membership table upon arrival.

6:30 pm: David Taylor - Care and Feeding of your Stash

David Taylor was born in Peterborough, New Hampshire, and currently resides in Fort Collins. His obsession with fabric began at an early age when he salvaged scraps from his mother’s sewing area trash bin. By the time he was 12, he was creating costumes, clothes and crafty things. When he semi-retired as computer graphic artist, he began teaching applique and quilting techniques throughout the world.

David Taylor WorkshopUnder the Apple Tree

This easy pattern is uniquely designed to teach, turned edge, layered, machine applique technique using freezer paper templates, liquid starch and nylon invisible thread.Students need to have a sewing machine with adjustable blind hem stitch capability.

Student Supplies Needed
-Sewing machine with blind-hem stitch or adjustable blanket stitch capability. (Please bring sewing machine manual)
-Extension table (helpful)
-Open toe or zig zag foot
-Paper scissors and fabric scissors
-Machine bobbin wound with white or ecru polyester thread
-Straight pins
-Finger stiletto (optional)
-Thread snips

Student Fee Kit: $70
Kit includes pattern, freezer paper, pre-washed fabrics, machine needle and YLI Wonder Invisible thread.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Longmont Quilt Guild is:

  • To preserve and continue the traditions and history of the art of quilting, quilt making, and related hand arts.
  • To develop and contribute to new approaches to quilting.
  • To expand the knowledge of quilting and educate those interested in the background and skills of quilting.
  • To contribute to community education and appreciation of the art of quilting.
  • To provide community outreach projects available for member participation.

We value all quilt makers and enthusiasts, regardless of skill level, enjoyment level, or style type. Quilting is an artform that thrives on ideas, and we strive to share those ideas and learn from each other to further each individual's journey in the craft.
