Monthly Meeting Featuring Karen Gibbs
March 9 @ 6:30 pm
“For the Love of Batiks” will be the March program given by Karen Gibbs of Banyon Batiks by Northcott. Karen was here in 2017 for Schoolhouse soon after she started working for Banyon Batiks. If you remember, she gave out batik samples at the time and promises to give out Batik fat quarters as door prizes this time as well. Love those door prizes!
Karen is the Creative Director at Banyon Batiks for which she does a lot of traveling to Indonesia. In the program she will be talking about the latest innovative developments in batiks and will be showing some of the quilting world’s use of them. She will also have video of Indonesia and the artists with whom she works.
Karen is a busy quilter. You can find her on Facebook live every Thursday at 1 PM mountain time where she talks about batiks. The March issue of American Quilter has her quilt Heartflowers. She will be teaching this quilt in Loveland at Quilters Dream on March 23. You can sign up for the class by contacting the shop. Remember that they have moved and are on E 29th Street. Another interesting activity that Karen is involved in is Quilty Box. She is the box for March. To learn more about Quilty Box and what they offer, go to www.quiltybox.com
Scott Flanagan is a guest designer for Karen. He also designed a BOM for her. Scott sends his regrets for not being able to be here as originally planned. However, he was force to postpone because of his voice. Scott Flanagan will be our presenter for March 2022.
So start up you Zoom and join us on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 for an evening of Karen Gibbs and batiks.
