Monthly Meeting Featuring Kim Lacy and Dana Lacy Chapman
February 9, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Join us for Twisted Sisterhood!
The February 9, 2021 program should be exciting. We are welcoming back Dana Lacy Chapman with her sister Kim Lacy. The program will be virtual on Zoom.
Sisters Kim Lacy and Dana Lacy Chapman have inspired and encouraged each other’s art in many ways for many years. Their presentation explores three themes that have appeared in different ways in both of their work: strip piecing, the use of shrinking threads, and mosaic design. In a fun and loving virtual chat, they will explore these themes with examples from their own portfolios.
Dana completed a Ph.D. in 1986 in Clothing and Textiles from The Ohio State University. She taught tailoring and clothing construction (among other classes) at The University of Akron for 10 years, after which she discovered the worlds of quilting and wearable art. Her work has taken ribbons at major shows and she was twice invited to be a designer for the Bernina Fashion Show (2005 and 2008). email@example.com
Kim Lacy is a self-taught fiber artist. She has quilted for 40 years. She began showing her work about 10 years ago. She has won many awards in Nation and International Quilt Shows. Her favorite fabric is silk. Her favorite muses are geology, ammonites and anything spiral. Her favorite techniques are strip piecing and fabric painting. She has created many pieces in her “mosaic” style that is quite unique. firstname.lastname@example.org
Be sure to join the program on February 9, 2021.
